How much does a logo cost?
A logo can cost anywhere from tens of dollars to thousands. The number matters less than what is included: how many concepts, how many revisions, which files, and who owns the result.
Why prices vary so much
Two logos can both be called “a logo” and have almost nothing in common. The price follows what is included, not the file.
Who you are paying
A branding agency bills for strategists, account managers and project managers before a line gets drawn. A solo designer bills for the drawing. That is most of the gap between the two ends of the market.
How many directions
One concept means you accept or reject a single idea. Three to five separate directions let you choose, and show you why one works better. More directions take more drawing time.
What you can use afterwards
A PNG on a white background is not the same deliverable as a vector master, print-ready CMYK files, a one-colour version and the editable source. Cheap offers often stop at the PNG.
Two ends of the market
A small-business identity from an agency against a fixed-price package from this studio.
A branding agency
- $2,500 to $10,000 for a full small-business branding package
- Months to complete
- A brief call, then an account manager
- Revisions capped by the contract
- Ownership depends on the contract
Dhama Studio
- $70 to $150, fixed before you order
- 3 to 5 days to first concepts
- You talk to the person designing your logo
- Unlimited revisions in every package
- Full ownership transfers on delivery
Agency figures come from a published industry guide, not a quote from any particular studio: Tenet’s branding cost guide gives $2,500 to $10,000 for a full small-business branding package, and about $250 for a basic logo. A full package covers more than a logo (brand guide, messaging, templates), so it is not a like-for-like comparison with a logo alone.
Six things to check before you pay anyone
Whatever the price, ask for these in writing. A good answer to all six matters more than the number.
How many concepts do I get?
Ask for the number of genuinely different directions, not variations of one idea in different colours.
Are revisions limited?
Many offers cap revisions at two or three, then charge for more. Unlimited revisions on the chosen direction means the logo is finished when you say it is.
Which files will I receive?
You want a vector master, transparent versions, print-ready files and the editable source. Without the vector master, a sign, a vehicle wrap or a printer will eventually ask for something you do not have.
Does it work at 16 pixels?
A logo spends most of its life as a favicon, an app icon or a profile picture. Ask to see the mark at the smallest size, and in a single colour.
Who owns it when it is done?
Full ownership of the artwork and source files should transfer to you on delivery, stated plainly, so you can register or modify the logo later without asking permission.
Is it original?
Templates and generators reuse the same shapes for many buyers. An original mark is the only kind you can reasonably register as a trademark and defend.

Questions people ask
How much does a logo cost?
It depends on who draws it and what you receive. One published industry guide puts a full small-business branding package from an agency at $2,500 to $10,000, and a basic logo at about $250. A fixed-price package from a solo designer here is $70 to $150, with first concepts in 3 to 5 days, unlimited revisions and full ownership on delivery.
Why is a logo from a solo designer so much cheaper than from an agency?
There are fewer people to pay before a line gets drawn. An agency bills for strategy, account management and project management on top of design. A solo designer bills for the design, so you talk directly to the person drawing your logo.
What is included in a $70 logo?
Three logo concepts, unlimited revisions, vector and transparent files, print-ready files and the editable source, with first concepts in three days. Stationery and a social media kit are added in the $125 and $150 packages.
Is a cheap logo worth it?
It can be, if it is original, comes as a vector master with print-ready files, works at very small sizes, and ownership transfers to you in writing. Check those six things rather than the price. A cheap logo that fails them costs more to redo later.
Do I own the logo after I pay?
Here, yes. Full ownership of the artwork and the editable source files transfers to you on delivery. The work is original, not a template, so you can register it as a trademark.
